The Band

After eight years of travelling around the world, La Pegatina has left its mark in all the places it has played. Whether it is on a national, European or world level, the project is success thanks to a great dedication from the members of the band and the public. Sincerity, hard work and good mood were the keys to keep this adventure going well. The public as well as every person who has supported the group have been and always will be indispensable.

Even though their story started in 2003, it was only in 2006 that the project took the name of La Pegatina. At that time, Ruben, Ovidi and Adrià decided to go ahead and record an album. Therefore, in 2007 they released their first self produced and self edited album « Al Carrer! ». Many well known artists collaborated such as Manu Chao, Che Sudaka and Gambeat. It must be said that it is thanks to these people that La Pegatina has succeeded in managing itself.

In 2007 three new members entered the group. Ferran on the bass, Axel on the trumpet and Romain on the accordion. The 2007 and 2008 tours were the beginning of the success they are having today. The 2008 tour ended with a sold out Apolo in Barcelona. Since then, La Pegatina has been a reference for mixed music. It was at that concert that the band presented what was to become their hit on their second album, « Alosque », in collaboration with D'Callaos.

In 2009, they edited « Via Mandarina » with Kasba Music through wich they could continue offering their music for free downloads while at the same time selling it in the shops. On this new album there is accordion and trumpet and many emblematics songs such as Gat Rumberu and Miranda. Many artists colaborated on Via Mandarina such as D'Callaos and El Puchero del Hortelano.

2009 and 2010 are successful years for the band. They performed over 200 concerts around the world. They appeared in many festivals whether it was in Les Feux de l'été in France with a public of 14.000 or in Lowlands in Holland with a public of 94.000. Their concerts took them through a lot of new countries (Quebec, Poland, Liechtenstein and Germany). The tour route gets bigger and more spectacular every year.

In 2011, La Pegatina presents the album wich will consolidate their fame on a national and European scale. It is called «Xapomelön » , recently edited by Kasba Music. Joan Garriga, Amparo Sánchez, In*digna and The Sey Sisters collaborated on the CD. This is the first album in wiwh appears Sergi López, the drummer who entered the band in 2009. This allows the band to mix lots of different styles of music such as Merengue, Cúmbia, Ska, Disco and Ranxera.

Xapomelön is composed of 21 tracks uniting energy and diversity to fun lyrics and creativity. The songs are in Galician, Basque, English, French, Catalan and Spanish. Xapomelon is a world that La Pegatina has created, with the help of its two previous albums, “Al Carrer!” and “Via Mandarina”.
